Lighting Breakdown-

I used a strong directional light scattered through a dense volumetric fog to create this shallow-watered barren space port. These techniques achieved the
“Sci-fi white void” look I wanted while using reference from Christopher Nolan’s , “Interstellar” (2014). I specifically ensured that the god rays were able to breach the fog to leave harsh misty reflection on the still water.

Lighting Breakdown-

You arrive in a cavern filled with mysterious artifacts and idols, there is much to look at so, rather than feeling overwhelmed, you allow the light to guide you. Using strategically colored spotlights, fill lights, glow sticks, and directional lights, I guided the player through the winding cavern, prompting exploration, and rewarding with quick atmosphere changes. Using reference from Halo, Bioshock, and Skyrim, I allowed every room to feel unique with graceful mood changes and strong line-of-sight focus.

Lighting Breakdown-

Using a strong colored spot light with lens flares at the end of a corridor, I designed this piece to guide the player forward without causing distraction or defection. Referencing Destiny, Portal 2, and Outlast, this scene could act as a “transitional passage,” allowing NPCs to speak or music to ramp up before a fight, motivating the attention of the player and allowing the room ahead to compile seamlessly.
